Customer Suggestions, First Edition!

ging-blog-icon-1It is exciting to be part of this blog! In this and coming postings, I’ll mostly be talking about our customers and customer-related events.  Not a day passes that we don’t hear from at least a couple of our customers. Luckily, most of what we hear is positive – really nice comments about our products as well as our restaurant in NY City. Many of our customers are from the U.S., but we also receive fan mail from Europe (most especially the U.K.) and Asia (including faraway Australia).

Not only will I be sharing with you nice things our customers have to say about our products, but once in a while, such as in this post, I’ll also be sharing some customer suggestions on how they use our products. They are proving that there is more to peanut butter than just being a sandwich spread!

For instance, we have this peanut butter flavor “The Heat is On” that contains a special blend of fiery spices. While it makes a great spread for crackers, bread, and vegetables like celery and carrots, we also use it a lot in savory recipes. At home, I mix in a tablespoon or two when I’m making turkey burgers — it does add a wonderful zing to the burgers (there is a recipe for this in the Peanut Butter & Co. Cookbook written by our founder and president Lee Zalben).

One of our customers, a lady by the name of Heidi from Ohio, has found a great way to use it beyond the sandwich. She mentions that at lunch in her workplace, she normally makes “spicy peanut butter and banana on whole wheat wrap sandwiches” using The Heat is On. But then she discovered another delicious way to use it. To her single serving container of frozen Chinese chicken and vegetables, she adds and then mixes a tablespoon of The Heat is On and half a tablespoon of extra virgin coconut oil. She says that the taste reminds her so much of her favorite spicy peanut-coconut sauce served at Thai restaurants – but this time with less the fat!

If you, dear reader and customer, have other suggestions or thoughts about our products, we would love to hear about them too. I hope the tidbit from Heidi inspires you to think beyond the sandwich!

    Hi there :o) I’m PB&Co’s Number 1 superfan from the UK!! My favourite sandwich filling at the moment is Smooth Operator PB with sliced banana (bread slice 1), smooth cottage cheese and Marmite (bread slice 2, then sandwich together!)on wholewheat – ooey gooey yummy healthy gorgeousness!! :o)

    Hi, I love peanut butter. And I have two ideas [ you might have them already but, i dont know].
    1. Peanut Butter, cream cheese, and blueberries
    2. Peanut Butter, hershey chocolate syrup, and a thin layer of vanilla ice cream.
